Hello to all of you gentlemen and ladies out there. I've been thinking a lot lately and I've known for a long time that it has been FAR too long since I have been here, active in the dA community. It's been 6 months since my last journal entry and probably another 2 weeks since my last submission. I assure you that I am still here, and I am still taking pictures. Things have been crazy lately, so much going on.
*Updates*
-Moved in to a new apartment in the beginning of June.
-Bought the Canon Rebel XSi (Now wishing I would've waited for the T1i)
-working on 2 final projects (3 weeks of the quarter left)
-Graduating from The Art Institute in December for Film & Video
-Acquired a new kitten 2 weeks ago. I named her Ting Ting (she's in heat right now :/ )
-Mum getting married July 6th in Florida (yes I will be there taking pics)
-***Starting a special project 1 June 2009***
But I'm not writing this to make excuses for my absence, because frankly, there are none.
I'm here to tell you that I'm starting a project called 1/12/365. Starting 1 June 2009 I will be taking and uploading 1 picture a day, for 1 year, and each month will focus on a certain "Genre" of photography (ie. landscape, nature, portrait etc...). I have not decided if I will upload each and every picture to dA, but I will have a separate site set up for that purpose.
The idea behind this is to spark creativity, to use the tools I have in a new fashion for interesting results, to grow in experience as a photographer and as a person, as well as have a good time and hopefully meet some new faces
Anyone else is more than welcome to join me in this project, in fact, I encourage you to.
You all are a resourceful bunch, so I'm sure that you can easily find sites and blogs to upload and post your pictures to. For those that aren't sure though, here are some sites that I have used before:
Blogger.com - I simple, nice blog layout perfect for simplistic updates
Tumblr.com (what I'll be using) - Edgy layouts with lots of widgets, such as built in Twitter and Flickr feeds.
dA - An obvious choice here, you're very familiar with it

Also be sure to check out Photobucket.com and Flickr.com for picture hosting (Flickr has a 100mb monthly limit unless you upgrade, so this could be problematic. I'm not sure about Photobucket.)
Even if you decide this isn't for you, I hope you continue to grow as a photographer/artist/person through your work. Hope to see you out there!
*Update soon with link to the website.*
**Update: visit
{one-twelve-365.tumblr.com} for daily submissions, the twitter, and links to my other work!**
With Love
