As part of my desire to become more involved in the art community, I will begin hosting periodic challenges that will hopefully help any artist who is willing to participate. By 'help' I merely mean to broaden your experience and hopefully open your eyes to new ideas as well as help you grow as an artist.
Each challenge will have a specific theme. While each theme may refer to something specific, such as this month's challenge will, you may approach each theme however you wish. For the most part these challenges will be open medium, unless otherwise noted.
The submissions will be judged in three (3) different categories on a scale of 0-5, 5 being the best:
Concept: How well the submission conveys the challenge theme.
Execution: Framing, colors, etc, who well they fit the message.
Quality: Quality of the deviation; grainy, blurry, supporting supplies not suppose to be visible in the shot (such as tape, or putty)
The time allowed may vary anywhere from 5 days to one whole month, so always be ready

Please keep in mind, these are
challenges not contests. The only reward is the knowledge that you walk away with a new experience.
To participate, just leave me a comment in this journal and I'll put you're name on the list.
I must stress, this is not an original idea. I give credit to =aksdareflection for hosting his own challenges, of which I got this idea from.
Without further adieu let's begin! This challenge's theme is 'GO GREEN' in celebration of Earth Day on April 22nd. Remember, take this theme however you wish, and your submission does not have to be completely conceptual, just as long as it goes with the theme. The medium is anything you would like, though photography will be the focus (to keep it Earth-Friendly use digital!) The due date is April 20th, and the results will be posted on the 22nd! Any Questions??
Show the world at its best!
Quick Rules
Theme: Go Green
Main Medium: Photography, but all other mediums welcome!

Some facts to get you thinking:
[1] If every newspaper in the US recycled just
one typical Sunday paper, he or she could help create
212 million pounds of cellulose insulation-enough to insulate 118,767 Habitat for Humanity houses. That's nearly twice as many houses as all the Habitat homes built in America so far.
[2] Replacing just
one 500-sheet roll of virgin toilet paper a year with one 500-sheet 100% recycled paper in every American household would leave
424,000 trees standing -- 16 times as many as in New York City's Central Park.
[3] One gallon of used oil - the amount from a small car engine -- can pollute
1 million gallons of fresh water and create an 8-acre oil slick. (Each year, nearly 200 millions of used oil are illegally dumped on the ground, tossed in the trash or poured down storm sewers and drains.)
